Artists/Hongza

London-born, Vietnamese-Chinese singer-songwriter Hongza excels in crafting the kind of emotionally charged, shoegazing dream pop that can soundtrack all of life's ups and downs. Latest single 'The Noise', produced by longtime collaborator Larry Hibbitt (Nothing But Thieves, Sea Girls, Sundara Karma) saw Hongza entering darker territory sonically. He explains: “The past year has been one of the hardest of my life, I've struggled with my mental health more than ever and felt at my lowest. “The Noise” is about living with that hollowness, knowing the person you love most saves you daily, yet still feeling like any sense of fulfilment is always just out of reach.”

Extremely resilient and dedicated to his craft, Hongza often uses his struggles and setbacks as the a driving force behind his music, as well as his goal to foster a sense of belonging and recognition for other independent artists, especially of the ESEA (East and South East Asian) diaspora. Hongza's most recent, more extensive, body of work, his 'Coming Of Age' EP, was praised by critics, with Rolling Stone UK calling it "a raw examination of identity, self-worth and love."

Hongza's electrifying live shows have seen him play with notable acts such as The Cribs, Bad Nerves, Somebody's Child and Deary. He has also lit up prestigious festivals and venues like The New Colossus in New York, The Great Escape in the UK, Supersonic in Paris and Effenaar in Eindhoven.

Recently signed to brand new alternative label Killabop, expect plenty more emotion from Hongza in 2026.
